Fallon Features: THE FALLON AIR SHOW

Part of northern Nevada's Aerial Triple Crown

For years, Fallon Air Show has been one of Fallon's marquee special events and part of northern Nevada's "Aerial Triple Crown" that includes the Great Reno Balloon Races and Reno's National Championship Air Races. AND IT’S BACK! The next Fallon Air Show will take place in 2012 at Naval Air Station Fallon with a Blue Angels performance.

The show will feature the world's greatest precision jet team and performances by all branches of the armed forces. It takes place at Naval Air Station Fallon, one of the premier tactical training bases in the country and home to the elite Navy fighter weapons school, TOPGUN. The focus of the show is on the military and the awesome capabilities of the most powerful aircraft in the world; but, the entire history of aviation goes on display with restored war birds and other interesting confederate aircraft.

Another popular feature of the Air Show is the “Wall of Fire,” a simulated strafing run by TOPGUN pilots that creates a quarter-mile explosion along the flight line of the show.

The show showcases the cooperation between the Navy and the Fallon community in which it resides. It is a viable recruiting tool and an opportunity for tax payers to see their money at work. The Fallon Air Show also provides community non-profit groups and organizations the ability to raise funds for many worthwhile causes. The local economy also benefits tremendously.
